Donna has been a fixture in the Irish music since her first release “Woman in Black” back in 2012. Donna style is heavily influenced by Rock ‘N’ Roll, Blues, Country and Rockabilly music. This straight away, made Donna very comparable to Irish Rockabilly icon, Imelda May. Although the comparisons were flattering, Donna wanted to bring her own style and uniqueness to her music.

After the success of her debut release, Donna began to perform throughout Ireland at such festivals as the Vantastival, Enniscorthy Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival and The Cork Jazz Festival (Where she ended up performing six years in a row). During this time Donna also got the opportunity to support Jedward on their Irish tour after their X-Factor success.

Donna then moved to the UK to further progress her music career and began writing and performing with many different musicians. In 2014 Donna released her second EP entitled “Butterfly Baby”. With this, Donna got a chance to tour and record in the Southwestern part of the USA. This is when Donna developed her own distinctive style and sound.

After the American Tour, Donna returned to Ireland and continued to develop her career by working with some of Irelands top musicians such as Jimmy Smith (The Bogey Boys), Doc O’Connor (Late Late Show Band) and Anto Drennan (Michael & The Mechanics) to name but a few.

In 2016 Donna was approached by Diablo Records and was challenged to write an album. Diablo Records focuses primarily on Psychobilly music, which was out of Donna’s comfort zone, however she still decided to accept the challenge and signed to the label.

November 2016, the single “Voodoo” was released and the album then followed in in February 2017. The album became a success within the Psychobilly scene and went to Number 1 in the UK Rock ‘N’ Roll charts. Donna began working under the name “Donna Dunne & The Mystery Men” and went on a tour of Europe. Unfortunately, the minor success was short lived. With the members of the band residing in different countries it became more difficult to get together.

In 2018, Donna & The Mystery Men parted ways. Donna then went on to tour Europe as an acoustic duo performing a mixture of originals and covers. This is where Donna really crafted her stage presence and began to realise, she would like to move back toward her earlier influences.

Donna decided to take a break from music which gave her the time to re-evaluate her career in music and the creative direction she wanted to go. With that Donna is now back with a new single called “A Friend Who Listened” which is a blues song about a very dear friend that passed away. Donna is now ready to get back into the music scene and make a mark on what she loves and knows best!
